Jetsetter buzz this month. Hot summer sun is here.

I just realized I would be in 4 different countries within 10 days. Just got back from Orlando, Florida where I attended a MEGA BOOK Marketing University. It was such an incredible experience being around with 500+ authors, aspiring authors and experts in the publishing industry. They were all from far away places; North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Some of the most interesting and best selling authors in the event are Mark Victor Hansen, Barbara deAngelis, Alex Mandossian, Armand Morin, Dan Poynter, Rick Frishman, John Childers and many more.

Then it was back to White Rock British Columbia, Canada - my home sweet home. I hugged my Hubby, darling Daughters Michelle and Catherine, Sister Mary Ann, Digi-Print angels and unpacked and pack again twenty four hours later for my Asian trip.

Catherine my sweet younger daughter [also just about the coolest person on earth] and I are in Japan now as I am writing this blog.

What a busy and high tech this Pearl of the orient is. Tomorrow I will give talks to Filipino Community leaders somewhere in Tokyo. I am most grateful to Maritoni and her family, Lia and Rose who are doing their absolute best to make our first stay in Japan most memorable by showing us places and connecting us to people who open their hearts to The Tale of Juliet's message of hope.

Oh how fortunate and most thankful we were having been upgraded to first class from Vancouver to Japan. I was seated next to a Canadian executive who not only works in Japan but also read and spoke the language. He was so kind to give us a briefing of what to expect.

While we were a bit disoriented at the airport, a Japanese business man offered to help us purchased ticket and get to the right train where a friend would be picking us up. Upon getting into our destination, another kind hearted Japanese man helped us connect to where Maritoni and her lovely daughter were excitedly waiting for us with open hearts.

How wonderful people are! What a beautiful life journey this is.

Tuesday we are off to Manila where another amazing adventure will begin.

Will keep you posted about the rest of our Japan adventure!

Tid Bits and Gratefulness in the life of Jhet

  • It has been an amazing month filled with great people and special friends. The Tale of Juliet has reconnected me with an old acquaintance – a friend whom I have not heard from in 21 long years. He just happened to have typed up my name in Google and was surprised to come up with Jhet aka “Juliet, author of the Best Selling book The Tale of Juliet”. He is a Filipino engineer whom I met in Yemen, and would you imagine – he also is living in Canada with his family just as I am. “Thanks to Google” I say.

Radio Interviews
  • Few interviews broadcasted on live radio around the USA in such places as Rhode Island, Philadelphia and Idaho.

Speaking Engagements
  • Recent speaking engagements with Burnaby Board of Trade, Rotary Club, Catholic Women’s League and Independent Care Homes.
  • It is truly another blessing how we met people. I met an author named Anne Bercht who connected me with Ron and Tina who owns Bridges Consulting Inc. in British Columbia Canada. I had an opportunity on two occasions to be invited to speak at their seminar/workshop. Their workshops are meant to be for people who want to function more effectively resulting in healthier relationships and positive stress management. Success and happiness are not beyond your reach. Bridges Consulting Inc. enhances your effectiveness-regardless of your focus or vocation. Their Seminars and Services are "for everyone" who wants to really move ahead and succeed-NOW! Ron and Tina are two of the most compassionate people that I have ever met who are indeed living their passion and mission in life. www.lifelineseminar.com

Off to Japan
  • The Tale of Juliet continues to expand internationally as I will be taking a trip to Japan in the last week of July. Maritoni, Lia and many others are working extra hard to make it happen for a successful “The Tale Of Juliet” book launch in Japan.
  • Porter and Miles invited me to speak at their seminar in Manila, Philippines on the 28th of July. I am looking forward to re-connecting with my family, friends and supporters of The Tale of Juliet. If you know of groups, organizations or corporations who would benefit with the inspirational message of hope, faith and determination to live their life in full, please email me at jhet@thetaleofjuliet.com.
  • Referrals would be greatly appreciated. Together let’s continue to make a difference - one life, one heart, one mind and soul at a time.

Home front:
  • It has been incredibly busy at the home front, but all is well and there are lots of things to be grateful for.
  • My hubby and I just got back from a three day motorbike trip to Okanagan Valley, famous for its fruits and wineries. The breathtaking scenery was filled with towering trees, majestic mountains, lots of fresh air, hot sun (just like in the Philippines), pristine lakes, eagles, orchards, vineyard and sweet cherries.
  • We visited good friends of ours, Sylvie and Bill, in their breathtaking property overlooking the lake. “Yummmy” we were served a very delicious breakfast and for dinner an “Elk” steak with vegetables harvested from their very own garden. It is a scrumptious meal we enjoy annually with wonderful company.
  • Following a Holy mass last Sunday, praying for our eldest daughter to have a safe and successful competition in Kelowna, I was introduced to a lady who instantly booked me to speak at their event on September 30. What a blessing!
  • Our daughter Michelle is spreading her wings. She braved her first time ever drive all the way to Kelowna – A five hour drive passing through a steep ravine and a high mountain climb all while having to deal with the holiday traffic. She made it back home safely. Although it was not her best time and distance in her track and field history, she pocketed the gold for long jump and 4th place in the 100m dash. I never heard nor seen her 200m dash event so we do not know where she is at that. As long as she knows that we are all winners when we do our very best. Way to go!
  • Our youngest daughter and my sister Mary Ann were left at home and enjoyed some time basking at the beach. However they still managed to put some time in at work over the holiday.
  • I am so blessed to really have met Lourdes Elardo check her out www.speakingwithlourdes.com . We are having our first event Success Strategies for Immigrants in September.

If you can think of someone who would benefit from The Tale of Juliet, please pass the word on to your friends and send them to www.thetaleofjuliet.com. You just never know when your little acts of kindness will have a ripple effect in the life of others. It happened to me. Let’s make it happen to many others and make this world a better place.

God bless you all

Our family with James Hooi widow Jo and their daughter Keara.
